Created in close collaboration with Richard Tart, the nephew of Julius Tart, the collection is not based on interpretation, but on true origin. Richard is not just part of the story — he is its custodian. With a unique archive and his direct connection to the original Tart Optical factory, he brings a level of authenticity that has become rare today.

Rooted in these original sources, the frames emerge as timeless references. Shapes, proportions, and details are not reinvented, but carefully evolved with deep respect. Produced with modern techniques and carefully selected materials, they retain the very tension that once made the originals so relevant.

What resonates with us most is this balance: between past and present, between icon and evolution. JULIUS TART OPTICAL captures the spirit of New York from the 1950s to the early 1970s — a time when design, culture, and attitude were inseparably linked.
