John Dalia was founded in Paris in 2011 and brings a very particular kind of glamour to eyewear. Inspired by French haute joaillerie, the brand plays with jewellery, shine and distinctive details. But always with a remarkable sense of restraint.

That balance is what makes John Dalia interesting to us. The frames are allowed to stand out. They are allowed to shine. There is something of jewellery about them, and sometimes even a little bit of bling. Yet they never become flashy, excessive or over the top.

There is a strong sense of French craftsmanship behind it all. The frames are made in France using traditional techniques, carefully chosen materials and a great deal of handwork. The influence of haute joaillerie can be seen in the details: surfaces, finishes and small elements that give each frame its own presence.

What we like is this balance. John Dalia can be more. But never too much.

The shapes remain clear. The proportions are right. And despite all the details, there is still a certain elegance.
